Just say it!

Sunday, September 25th, 2005

Dennis, Emily, Irene, Maria, Nate, Ophelia, Philipe this is not a list of my friends but you’ll know when i say the next two names Katrina and Rita. Hurricanes, there were two since my last post. Every time a hurricane comes along - or a flood, or a drought, or a freeze, or a heatwave - the question is now asked “is it linked to global warming?”

I was reading an article on BBC and it really puts things in perspective.

Picture this Take the president of the world’s most powerful nation. Add two intense and damaging natural storms which bring destruction to that country; then mix in the widely held view that the same nation’s environmental policies are partially responsible for those storms. In the polarised world of climate change, this cocktail has proved an irresistible temptation to organisations which campaign against President Bush’s administration in support of enhanced action to curb greenhouse gas emissions.

The evidence is clear that the growing concentrations of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are changing weather systems in such a way that hurricanes become more powerful, or more frequent, and there is no question.

And I think the scientists should make thier concern clear. And send a strong statement before it starts to snow in Hyderabad.

And about me now..

There were no hurricanes in my life :)

I’m into yoga, podcasting and MACs.

Recently i bought an Apple iBook, my first MAC and i should say i dont like windows anymore. I hardly use my Vaio now a days.

I’m attending a Web Developer conference called Web Essentials 2005 on September 29 and 30 and will be posting my comments on the conference.
