“There are three classes of people: those who see. Those who see when they are shown. Those who do not see.” - Da Vinci

History where the events that happened have been modified or altered since then to change the perspective people get of the event. Sometimes they go so far as to deny that some things ever happened. As Napoleon says History is a myth we all agree to believe. So a movie based on History, if it is a work of fiction or a story based on a History text book at the end of the day it makes no sense. Da Vinci code the movie is a misarable attempt to sensationlize a fiction. Sometimes current day fiction makes more sense, it means in the way of personal creativity. The fiction written in the sense that it is created with an amalgam of personal experience (which is factual) mixed in with embellishment or a altering of true events to give a story a little meat. Some of the fiction I’ve read has proven itself to be more true and real.

History as the world recognizes it is largely Euro-centric due to the European Imperial Colonization of nearly all the continents of the world in the 19th century. This is an indisputable fact, but it is also, unfortunately, biased in favor of the Europeans. Historians have noted this in recent times, and have begun to shift their focus towards those peoples, cultures, and ideals that were oppressed by the European culture to remove the Euro-centric bias from the textbooks of the world. While this is a noble cause, there have been those that take this a step further and begin to have a bias against the Europeans and their historical influence that directly led to our modern times. Having a bias towards, or in favor of any historical party is now considered Revisionist History, and by many accounts, is an unethical practice amongst Historians.

History is a lie.. I assume that this statement comments on the idea that historical documents are slanted depending on who is writing them, the winner or the loser, since most of history is seen from a victor / victim standpoint anyway. It may also be a contributing factor in my decisive ignorance of history, either of my country’s or any other. Partly because I am so far behind now that if I chose to catch up, I’d be spending the rest of my years doing so, and partly because that slant will always make me question what the real story was, how it really happened. It is one thing to research certain areas of history for your own enrichment, for personal reasons. Like winning a quiz show or getting good grade in History. But I think it’s often callous to use one’s knowledge of history to show up just how ignorant other people are of linear facts.

So what ever happened to Christ, was he really married, is he a mortal or immortal doesnt make any sense in the world today. Many believe in christ and your belief is more true than history or whatever others say. Whatever you believe in I think is true as long as it doesnt hurt others and gives you spiritual comfort. I rest my argument saying, May the real holy christ please stand up!
